Normally they should call you if it was bad news, but I would always call just to be sure if it is something worrying you. If it was the glucose test they would have to call you because they would need to schedule the more detailed 3-hour test. I would think the same thing for the AFP test because they would have to schedule another test or the amnio.
It sounds like you're in the clear. I didn't call my doctor back when they didn't call me just because I knew there was nothing I could do about it if the test came out badly. We didn't want to have the testing done, anyway, so I was just appeasing my doctor to begin with.
One crazy story: One time my doctor's office didn't call me over a urine test they did for a possible bladder infection so I assumed all was okay. About two weeks later, when I could hardly walk, I called back crying and telling them that something was wrong. They FREAKED OUT because someone was supposed to call me and tell me that my prescription was waiting at the local Eckerds. I think the nurse actually got fired over it--or it might have been one of many things that got her fired.
