: : : : : : : : : What is this?
: : : : : : : : IUDs are small devices made of flexible plastic that provide reversible birth control. Those available in the U.S. contain copper or a hormone. IUDs are available by prescription only. A clinician decides which is the right type for each woman and inserts it in her uterus. Two types are now available in the U.S. One type, the ParaGard® Copper T 380A, contains copper and can be left in place for 10 years. The other, the Progestasert®, continuously releases a small amount of progestin and must be replaced every year. Once inserted, the IUD is immediately effective. When removed, its contraceptive effect is immediately reversed.
: : : : : : : : How IUDs Are Used
: : : : : : : : IUDs are inserted into the uterus by trained clinicians. Insertion is often done during menstruation, when the opening of a woman's cervix is softer and she is not likely to be pregnant.
: : : : : : : : hope this has helped
: : : : : : : I am planning on getting my tubes tied. Does this IUD require surgery? It lasts 10 yrs really? Can you do it again?
: : : : : : No surgery involved its like having a internal and they insert in you only takes 5 mins. it dont hurt either. after 8-10 yrs you have it removed and a new one is inserted.
: : : : : : best thing i ever done its ment to be really affected aswell, ive had it in for 8 months now and not had any probs wiv it
: : : : : If you have an IUD you can get pregnant but what the IUD does is when the egg hits the copper it kills the egg so it's killing this fertilized egg everytime it hits it.
: : : : yup the same happens with the pill. suppose we are all murders then?
: : : Actually the pill releses a hormon to pervent you from ovulating so you aren't killing the egg cause it never gets fertized
: : ok look at this sites then:
: : http://www.pilltruth.com/kill.html
: : http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-bcpill.html
: ive just looked at them sites and im quite shocked i never knew the pill could do that.
: just goes to show what birth control can do. i was reading another board some weeks ago and this woman woman had a iud and the responds where horrible people where calling her a murdering bitch etc. totally unfair now cos the pill can do the same from what ive just read
SO should I get my tubes tied then? That is very effective right? I dont want anymore kids, but I hear that you have longer heavier periods.
