: i'm 36 by the way and i got 2 kids and i maybe want another but not this year,so i just want everyones opinions on what 'too old' is
I personally wouldn't want to have a child past my mid-thirties, but I have special circumstances...I've already been a mom for 17 years. I was afraid that if too many more years passed, I wouldn't have the patience to care for and love my child properly. I am glad I had my DS now with my DH (he's 32 and I'm almost 36). I think the age is just right--I'm old enough to know to appreciate my baby's first years for everything they're worth, but I'll still be in my early 50's when he leaves the nest (god...I can't even bear to think that way just yet...sniff...LOL...but you get the picture). I think it's a good balance.
It's different for everyone. I know women in their 40's who are having children, and they're thrilled! I personally would be wary of the health factor after 40, not just for the child's sake (potential chromosomal problems) but for the mother's (higher risk of high blood pressure, etc.).
