If I went to the doctor......

If I went to the dr. and had a pregnancy test done would I get an accurate result,AF isn't due til this Fri.18th? I hope I am. I'm already getting depressed thinking it's gonna be negative. So, I know I'm going to be bummed out if I'm not and I'll probably let it get to me more than I should. How have the rest of u delt with this, that are TTC?
