Write to them! Complain! Make a big stink! I know it's been awhile since it happened but your experience was absolutely APPALLING and you should still tell the powers that be what happened. If nothing else, it will probably make you feel better to get it down on paper. They should know that you were not happy. I lived in the UK and I know how hard it can be to get through the bureaucracy, but please, do it anyway. And send a copy of your letter to your MP and your local paper.
You may get nothing more than an apology, but it is important to stand up for yourself now that you are feeling better. Things like this happen because they are underfunded and understaffed, but there is no excuse for treating their patients like dirt and putting their health at risk. I was just horrified by your story. You MUST tell them!! Here are details on how to do it: http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/page601.htm
You can call them first and then write to them later if you don't get any satisfaction. If they are snotty about how long it's been since it happened, tell them you were so traumatised by the experience that it's taken you this long to be able to face dealing with it. I'm sure that that is the case anyway. And then it will be on record, if nothing else.
Good luck and please do talk to them about it (AND write your letter)!
Jo
