Well let me tell you when I had my first child I got so scared everyone kept telling me that it was going to be so horrible that i was going to want to die. Well i am one of those people that don't progress naturally. With both my first and second my water broke at 4am. I never started to have contractions, so I was put on patoson. with my first son i had a midwife deliver not by my choice. but anyways she didn't manuver the labor correctly, my son got stuff on my pubic bone, while my husband and 6 others watched the doctor reached in and pulled my sons shoulder, and then when it wouldn't come lose she had the nurse pull her (the midwife) back away from me when my son came out he was blue and wasn't breathing I was so scared all I could think was I did some thing wrong. but they bagged him, and he started to breath. But now at 4yrs he can't throw a ball with his right arm very good or bend it out straight he has threpy we do twice a day and has to go see a specialist 300 miles away every 6 months. but is doing alot better then when he was born. But with that the pain of having him was 1/4 of all the crap people told me and i was in labor for 21hrs 40mins. With that I still decided to have a second when my water broke with the 2nd i was so scared cuz it was the same time as the 1st. and it went about the same but i had a really good doctor that had watched my whole pregancy very close. when i went in they called him and he came and stayed till after the baby was born. With #2 labor went good but baby had cord around his neck which happens alot, but i was so glad that the baby was ok. and thankfull that i had a wonderful doctor that came and spent 26 hours with me when he wasn't on call or anything! but now i am trying to get pregant again! you'll be fine its natural to be nervous and it will hurt. but as soon as you hold your new baby you don't even remember, and you'll know its worth every little bit. good luck Tracie
P.S. both of my boys weighed over 9 pds, but that midwife was charged with malpractice.
