I had both tests, the 1 hour and the 3 hour one. I didn't eat anything for the first one, it was early in the morning and I just skipped breakfast - but I think the OB said toast was fine. You drink an orange soda, wait an hour and then they take your blood. I failed that one and did the 3 hour test, where you drink a clear sweet drink, and have your blood taken every hour for 3 hours. I passed the second one, so I don't have GD.
