Hi Amanda,

Oh where to start:) Well, DH and I have not been using protection for the last 2 years. We decided if it happens it happens we will be happy(pregnancy). Well, I did have a problem. I had a spastic colon and didn't get my period for 7 months. My periods have always been irregular anyway, coming whenever she desires. Sometimes 6 weeks, 2 months, etc. We obviously knew that we didn't have as many chances in a year to get prego as a normal women who has regular periods does.

Well, we decided that we would actually start officially trying after my period on Feb. 7th 2004 was over. Well, we had sex everyday (sorry to be so graphic) because I had NO CLUE when I ovulate because I don't even know how long it will take to get my period again.

On the 12th of March I started to feel nauseated, lower back aches, cramps, sore breasts and boy were they bigger! Some of the same symptoms I had when I had a spastic colon. We thought we should go to the doctor. So we went on the 14th of March. The doctor tells us that we are prego. We both just looked at each other and laughed and then asked if he were serious. He just smiled and said congradulations! We were shocked! Of course we are thrilled, except for the fact that I have been throwing up everyday and feeling REALLY nauseated, little aches here and there. Today was the first day I haven't puked so hopefully that means that it is easing up.

I know we will be more excited when I get farther along and when I actually feel pregnant and not sick:) We thank God that we have been blessed. I know it will be worth all the throwing up, pains, and labor in the end.

God Bless you! I am so sorry about your fertility problem. It's such a terrible thing to go through. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to get pregnant either with my really irregular periods but I thank god that we have this chance to make a difference in a child's life. Hang in there. I know its hard to see all of these 15, 16, 17, & 18 year olds having kids all the time, ones who don't want them, can't support them, and some who don't deserve to have children. It's hard. I would like to say that I had to wait my 2 years to conceive so there is definite hope. There are some people who wait 5-10 years and finally they are blessed.

If you would ever like to talk, let me know, I will be here. Good Luck and I will be sending you tons of baby dust in your direction!!!!!

Hugs,
Amy W.

Hi Amy. I am not pregnant but I was ttc. I have pcos which is a fertility issue. I've been to doc after doc. I just moved back to California from Louisiana so I'm in the process of looking for a new doc. Anyway, how long did you ttc? How did you find out? Sometimes I think of what I'll feel like when I find out I'm pg. How exciting!
