Our Hannah has been primarily breast fed since she was born. During the week she gets one bottle of formula in the middle of the day when my mother-in-law babysits. She is a very strong little girl for being 7.5 months old. She held her head up within 2 months and is now sitting up easily, pulling herself up with ease, and standing for long periods of time while holding her toy chest.
Regarding food, we tried to start Hannah on rice cereal at about 3-4 months but she didn't show much interest. We did it again at 5.5 months and she has loved it since. She now eats rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatos, asparagus, broccoli, squash, apples, pears, yogurt, and egg yolks (chopped up and put in other foods).
Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging. With the exception of her being a crappy sleeper, I'm pretty proud of my girl.
You should check out a book that my wife has been using to help with the feeding. It's called "Super Baby Food". It has schedules in it I think and tells you how to make your own baby food. It doesn't take that much time and it saves you a LOT of money.
