: hey.. well i am about 8 weeks pregnant, the father wanted me to get an abortion, but i refused.. he said he would stay with me. everything was going well when me and him had an argument about a week ago, he started to hit me in the stomache several times because he wanted me to miscarriage, i am not with him anymore, and i pressed charges, but i am scared to do this alone. i need advice on what to do, i go to court soon, and he is saying i hit myself, i am only 18 and he is 29.

HI. First of all, I admire your strong will to go on, despite what happened. You will be okay. There are many organizations out there to help young women in your situation. Look inthe yellow pages, or on billboards for numbers to call. I can't see the judge actually believing taht an 18 year old girl is going to hit HERSELF in the abdomen several times while her 29 year old boyfreind just stood there innocently. Besides you have the evidence from the police statement to back you up. I would advise getting a restraining order. I also want you to know that I'm here for you anytime. Don't take this low life back! He's 29 and acted like that? I was abused horribly as a child, and it nearly destroyed my life. THrough counceling, andthe help of my school guidance councelor, I got out of taht situation by moving across the country at 17 years old. My point is, your child is SO much better off, not having a dad, than having a violent, abusive step- dad. You are making the right choices for you and your child. I am pround of you. You will be a great mommy. Also, Are things good with you and your parents? Will they help you and be there for you? Good lUck and take care hon. It will be okay, you'll see. I am a child psychologist, and have been a guidance councelor, so If you need advice, or to talk to someone who's been there, let me know. Take care--------------Jamie
