: : Fran,

Actually, he has had the rash for several weeks, and yes everything that I have tried, I have given it at least one week to work. The antifungul I have used for two weeks with little improvement and the cortisone for a week and a half with little improvement. I am applying these every diaper change (cortisone every other).
The reason I'm asking everyone for advice was that I thought someone might have a more "natural" remedy for treating or even just relieving diaper rash. I prefer not to use antifungal or cortisone for a prolonged period on a baby because of the side effects. These were both recommended by my doctor.
As for not being able to "see" the rash, I think Debbie's description of her son's rash pretty much hit the nail on the head , so to speak , in describing my son's rash.
As for doctor's, my personal opinion is that half the time they don't know what the hell they're dealing with or looking at. But I will have to make another appointment Monday, because I can't wait for it to get worse.
My doctor recommended Cornstarch, which I will not use because yeast feeds on cornstarch, and I suspect there is some yeast in his rash because he has suffered from thrush in the past, and Nystatin did NOT work. It went away on it's own.
