: : :Just asking my daughter had gasatreflux and was on a predigisted formula and prilosec for gastreflux. When she was on medicine her eating was better but she starting gagging when she started getting teeth in.If kyouir son is taking medicine remember if gains weight the medicine should be increased to be efffective.

: Thanks, yes he is on Zantac only. I am going to see what the dr recommends as we go in tomorrow. Thanks!

NyKolis was on Zantac and Reglan, he wasnt gaining weight like he should have been that is the reason that he had the surgery and that he was refluxing into his lungs....U might want to ask ur doctor about a test called a PH phobe, its nota fun test either, the place a super thin wire like a tiny phobe on the end of it down his nose..That is attacheced to a little box.... it measures a few things 1 is how much acid the reflux contains, how often he/she is refluxing. ect.... i didint want the test but we laread did the Upper GI.. and it did show relux, but it didnt whow how much and if ceratin food was the one doing it... he was refluxing 87% of the time all the way into his lucg, that is y he was stayin sick with fluid in his lungs... after the surgery they placed a G-tube in for feeding to hive him time to heal, i was told NOT to give him ANYTHING by mouth kida hard when a child was use to eating... so i just gave him water, ice chips things like that nothing else, i was told that it would stay inplace for 6 months. He had the surgery March 21 1994 and at the end of May they took out the G-tube and he has been A-OK ever since... now he is 9 and eat everything even thoe HOT cheetoes :S i cant even eat them but he does lol
