Sushi and Raw Meats
Although sushi lovers must give up sushi and sashimi during pregnancy, you can still enjoy Japanese cuisine like the hibachi grill, vegetable rolls, or fully cooked fish and shellfish rolls.
All meats that you eat should be thoroughly cooked - meats and fish to 160 degrees Fahrenheit and poultry to 180 degrees Fahrenheit . This temperature should be measured from the thickest part of the meat, away from the bone, fat, or gristle. For poultry, measure the temperature from the dark meat if available. Because ready-cooked meats can be contaminated with Listeria, you should heat it to at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit before consuming.
Eggs should also be fully cooked as to avoid salmonella poisoning unless you use eggs that have been pasteurized (the cartons of liquid whole eggs or egg whites). Remember this when you use eggs for baking as well - don't lick the spoon or your fingers. Also, avoid foods that contain raw eggs, such as Caesar dressing, mayonnaise, Hollandaise sauce, and unpasteurized eggnog.
