: i just had a baby on Dec.4 2002. He was started on enfamil with iron. He seemed to tolerate it fine which i was suprized because my two other children had to had soy formula because of a protien allergy to cows milk. In fact my now 20 month old just started to drink whole milk. He could not tolerate anything besides soy milk or he would have severe diarah. He also was treated for reflux at 6 weeks old and took nutramagin formula with rice cereal added untill 10 months old then had soy formula. Now my 4 week old son he vomiting after every feeding having diarah and crying after each feeding even when we have burped him for an hour. Do you think he has a protien allergy to cows milk and maybe a little reflux?

My Daughter was born 12-30-02. I have 2 other children who had no trouble at all, but at 3 weeks my daughter was projectile vomiting every time she ate. We had some xrays done and the doctor told me she had reflux and put her on Zantac. That seemed to help for a while. Recently, she started not eating well, breaking out in rash (which the doctors office originally said was just baby acne), and was a bit fussy. I took her in thinking she had an ear infection or that the Zantac wasn't doing its job anymore- long story made short they did a stool sample on her and found blood in 2 out of 3 samples. She was put on soy right away-but still is having problems. A couple of days ago the doctor put her on neutramigen. I am hoping that this will work for her. Your child sounds like he is having similar problems. If he hasn't had a hemocult done on his stool I would have them do that to prove an actual milk allergy. Then go from there. We tried soy and my daughter was still having problems(actually they were a bit worse) so now were trying this. Hope he gets better I know its miserable. Email me anytime. I'll be curious to hear if he gets better and what works for him.
