: My DS is turning 1 in a couple of weeks & it'll be time to put him front facing. We have a Alpha Omega Carseat by cosco. Anyone know about the teather strap. Do you have to take it to a dealer to install or has anyone done this themselves following the intructions. They seem kind of hard to follow. What about a booster seat if he's in someone else's car. Or does it have to be a carseat with a high back? They have so many product on the market, its all overwhelming!! What does everyone else have?

Are you asking about the bolt being screwed into the back of your car/vehicle or actually hooking uo the teather to the bolt? If it is the bolt, I recommend getting a shop to install it. it should only take them 10 minutes and you have the parts, so don't let them screw you over with the labour $. If you mean hooking up you can do that. The best way is to hook the teather to the bolt, kneel as hard as you can in the seat and tighten the teather as far as it will go. Then put the seat belt through and get it as tight as instructed also. Your seat should barely move. As for other cars, your child's seat should go with him from car to car. 5 minutes to move it is a small safety measure to pay.
