: Hi! My son is 8 months 3 weeks. He is on a routine with feeding. He wakes between 6:30 and 7:30 and has a 6 oz. bottle. One hour later I give him breakfast - rice cereal with a half of jar of fruit mixed in. Then a finger food (toast with margarine, cheerios, banana pieces, etc.). Typically four hours after the first bottle he has another 6 oz. bottle and then an hour later lunch, which is a jar of veggies and a half a jar of fruit (from the morning) and finger foods to follow (cheese, cookie, graham cracker, wagon wheel, or piece of fruit). Four hours later I give him another bottle and then dinner is typically served between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. He receives the fourth bottle of the day at 7:30pm and he is in bed at 8:15pm. I know this sounds rigid, but it is not and it works for us. My son set the four hour routine early on. I do give him water through a sippy cup during meals. He doesn't drink much, but gets the biggest kick out of it.

Try logging on to Babycenter.com and then read through the feeding message boards. Use what works for you and your son. I enjoy reading the messages from others and have picked up a few great hints on finger foods and such.
