I just had a good post that got wiped out. I'll try to recreate it here.
Someone asked what I meant by "own your posts". I was saying that people who post mean things under anonymous names are wimpy. I feel people should stand behind their statements because if you don't, you lose credibility. And besides, If you post something mean-spirited, you lose credibility in my view as well. I admit to being mean in the past. I try to curb that, though.
One other thing that I find detrimental to one's credibility is posting your point again and again... and then trying to bait people into conflict by posting a counterpoint to a every post a person makes. While this can be entertaining at first, it gets old fast - especially when it's the same party involved.
The long and short of it is this:
Have an opinion, post it, and be done with it. Why push? It's not going to change anyone's mind. A subtle, elegant statement goes much further than bashing people over the head with your point. The latter just makes people bitter, and makes them want to ignore you. Similar to what many of you are probably doing to me now.
-'nuff said, I'm done here and I'm going on vacation. See you guys later!!
