: Ds who is 1, suddenly is acting odd when it comes to eating. He used to care less when it came to mealtime suddenly he is always ready and waiting at my feet screaming for something to eat. He doesn't really want finger foods either, which he used to love, unless it is his fav... hot dogs! I have resorted to handfeeding him foods. Is this normal? Also, he suddenly doesn't want milk or water... only juice and formula. He used to LOVE water. What is with this? We go to the ped tomorrow so hopefully they will have advice too! Thanks!

Hi Shana!

Don't worry, after a baby turns 1 year, most of them become very picky. My 3-year-old likes to have dinner or lunch for breakfast. She wants spaghetti, tuna sandwich, etc., and hates milk and eggs now and she used to love them. Some kids even want to eat the same thing for a week and then switch to another food another week. I think you should just give him what he will eat (not meaning junk food or candy). You could also give him vitamins if you are worried he is not getting enough from what he eats.

Good luck and take care.
