: Well, I talked with the doctor tonight. He is convinced that my 2 yr old is just throwing tantrums - which cause him to pass out and vomit. He threw a half tantrum in front of the doctor too (didn't turn blue though).

: My doc said that out of the 30 yrs in practice- he has seen only one other boy actually pass out from a tantrum- and rarely were cases of vomiting after tanrums. But because of his medical history and tendency to vomit more than the average kid- that must be the cause.

: So- he is now on an experimental dose of Reglan to see if his vomiting decreases any over the next month. I tried reglan once before- but it's been a while. If that doesn't seem to do any good, then we'll do a full gastric emptying study.

: And the doc said that behavior modification doesn't work when the child is that riled up. If I can somehow prevent him from escalating (which isn't possible with an older brother around), then maybe I could divert the tantrum. But otherwise he's going to have to grow out of it. I hope sooner than later. I HATE CLEANING UP ALL THIS VOMIT!!!

: Anyway-- thanks again for the kind advice to help me seek answers. :0)

Hi Dana,

I think it is just going to take some patience, maybe some extra love and attention, and hopefully it will just pass some day. I know how you feel about cleaning up the vomit. I had a nephew that would throw up every time he was mad or did not get his own way. He would vomit in peoples shirts, on restaurant tables, anywhere. Many times I took care of him and it was a lot of work.

I wish you the best of luck and hope this situation gets better. Keep us dated.
