: Hi, My 8 1/2 month old usually drinks 16 to 20 onces formula and eats solids adequately but lately, he just wants formula and barely any solids. Now is up to 24 to 27 onces formula. Should I decrease his formula intake so that he eats more solids or should I let him eat how he wants? He is a small baby so I'm concerned that he gains weight adequately.
: Thank you

Hello,

I would decrease his formula to 24 ounces a day and increase his solids a bit which well help with weight gain and growth and maybe give some infant vitamins as well. Give the solids that you know he likes, aiming for something healthy. At this age, he is capable of eating table food like smashed or cut into tiny pieces of chicken and vegetables, etc.

Good luck.
