My husband and I are going on a Catholic retreat for 5 days. My mom will be taking care of our children. I agree with you that anyone who is a follower of Christ is a Christian but, in regard to the 2 religions, there is a slight difference. After this retreat, I am going to accompany my husband to Christian church and then we will decide what is to our best satisfaction. I don't plan on both of us being a different religion. I believe it would cause confusion to our children, so either we are going to stay Catholic or we are going to practice Christian religion.
Speaking of disciplining children. I admit, I have a difficult time with that. I never yell or raise my voice at my children and give them 3 chances when they misbehave and then send them to their room if they still don't behave to cool off, and I don't believe in spanking even though I was spanked as a child for major offenses, which was rare because I didn't give my parents too much trouble. What I have noticed is that many people I have talked to who are Christian (I am sure not all) look at me like I am nuts because I don't believe in spanking and tell me if I don't they are going to end up hitting me when they grow up to be teenagers. I think spanking just teaches a child violence.
Well, I'll talk to you later. I hope you were able to get your cleaning done.
