: Hi,

: My son just turned one today and is still taking two bottles of formula a day, one when he first wakes up and one right before bed.
: My questions are these:
: Should I discontinue these two bottles and give him only sippy cups of milk?? Currently,he does have a sippy cup of whole milk with his meals.
: Or should I let him wean himself when he is ready?

: He seems to enjoy his evening bottle more than his morning bottle. He also has a big bowl of cereal after his morning bottle. I think I may be able to cut the morning bottle and just give him cereal with a sippy cup of milk to go along with it(the cereal makes him thirsty).

: I just wanted to know what other parents have done once their children reach this age. I will be taking him for his 1 year checkup on Friday, so I will also ask his doctor.

I had my dd weaned by her 1st bday. I just strated with the first bottle in the morning and started replacing it with a sippy of whole milk. I only took away one bottle at a time for a week.
