I had probably the most horrible experience in all of my parenting tonight, and I don't know how to discipline my daughter for it. The neighbor girl and my 4 year old daughter were playing at the neighbor girls house. At somepoint, they came to our house and got the spray paint I left on the deck (my fault for leaving it out) and then went to the church next door and proceeded to paint it (the neighbors fault for not watching them). My daughter is very insistent that it was not her idea and that the other girl told her she had asked me if they could paint and I had said it was okay, both of which I believe. But I am at a loss for how to disipline her, other than not allowing her to play with the neighbor anymore (which I've already done). She needs to realize that this is going to cost my husband and I hundreds of dollars to fix and I don't know how to convey that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
