: I am 18 years old and will be becoming a first time mom at the end of the month... I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and am very close to his family but there is a problem ever since i became pregnant his family is now saying they want a paternity test because they dont believe that my baby is his. I dont now how to handle this situation it just hurts so bad that after 4 years they would insist something like that this is the point in my life when i need him the most I dont feel it necessary to do a paternity test for the sake of my reputation that makes me look like im some kind of cheater and will give me a name and not only that i feel embarrased to take one i dont want my Dr.'s to think i dont know who my babys dad is if anyone has been through this please comment i need some advice on what to do...

I have to comment on this one... as a first time mom, and wife! There were no doubts as to who the father of my son was. But when he was born... with bright red hair and very pale skin, I was questioned by both sides of the family. My dh is black and very dark. I however am VERY white and pale skinned. My own mother even questioned. And deep down I believe that is one reason dh didn't take to the baby right away. However in time he did, and everyone started to see how much ds looks JUST LIKE dh! There is no denying NOW! I wish u luck in ur decision. I say it is up to u and your bf. Do u what u can live with!
