: I know there are mixed feelings on this issue and I am not pointing fingers, but I too agree that it is okay to take the baby out this early. A baby's immune system is stronger than people think. A baby's immune system is developed when a person is 5 months' pregnant and is capable of fighting infections even while in the womb at 5 months pregnant.
: After the baby is born, the baby is still carrying some of the mother's immune system antibodies in addition to his own immune system that he received while in the womb. These antibodes begin to leave his body when he is a few months old. Of course, you will want to dress him according to weather, don't have anyone cough on him, and don't go visit a house full of sick people, but going out to the grocery store, restaurant, will not hurt. You already exposed him outdoors when you took him home from the hospital.
: All babies are capable of getting RSV and other respiratory illnesses. The reason why a premature baby is more capable is because he was not in the womb long enough to receive enough immune system antibodies from his mother. Is your baby premature? I had my babies 1 month early. I did take them out that early but made sure they were dressed appropriately, etc.
