: I read alot on babies, just because these are my first children and I just wait for things to happen or at least get a general ideal of when things happen. Unfortunantly the hospital dont provide you with a parenting guide that shows how when and why, but I have a question, I know every child is different but when is the average a child starts cutting teeth? I noticed my girls gums are turning a bit whitish in color. They are starting well one is any ways to be a bit of a fussy butt... In a good way of course.. if she wasnt it would be probably boaring. But i imagine its to early for her to cut teeth but I wonder if she can feel her teeth starting to come up a little bit more to the top of her gums. ???Any one have an ideal?
My DS started cutting his first teeth around 5 months. They actually broke through the skin when he was 6 1/2 months. He's 9 months and is about to get his 6th tooth. I can tell you that the first teeth, usually the bottoms, caused him a lot of discomfort and he was a grouch for a month. Tylenol helped him with mild fussiness and when the teeth were close to cutting through I gave him Advil to help with the imflamation. Give them lots of things to chew on. And be prepared for lots of drool.
