I decided to check in today to find out about Leora's little girl and just saw this!
That is grrrrrreat! Congratulations!! I remember telling you to have another one! I'm glad it finally happened. A baby is always a blessing no matter how much work it takes.
It will be difficult at the beginning. I prepared my oldest telling her that mommy has a baby in her tummy and that it will be her baby brother or sister and read children books to her about babies and also bought her a baby doll to take care of. I did not take her to the doctors with me because I thought she would become frightened. She did ask questions like how the baby is going to come out. I would just tell her that mommy is going to go to the hospital when the baby gets bigger and the doctor will take it out.
After I had the baby, I made sure to give the oldest extra attention and let her help out with the baby. She was great until about 5 months. After that, she would hit the baby in front of our faces until one day it got so bad, I had the baby on the table while I was cooking and she got those metal things for the mixer. As I tried to grab them from her, she hit her very hard on the head causing pinpoint dots on her head. At that point, I felt it had to stop and nothing was working even the extra attention. I was worried she would kill her one day. As much as I felt bad doing this, I had to smack her hand once. Since that day, her and her sister have been the best of friends. They are always hugging and she always says her little sister is her bestfriend. It makes me want to cry when I see them playing so happy together and hugging eachother. They are also both menaces together.
It will be great too if it is a boy. My brother and I are 1-1/2 years apart and I still see him like a bestfriend.
Thanks for the great news!
