I have to agree with every one else. Standards of safety are constantly being updated and a crib that is twenty five years old will not be in compliance with the standards of today. If you can pass a coke can through the bars there is too much room between the slats and your baby could get their head stuck in between the slats this would most probably cause brain damage or death. The mattress... DEFINATELY NOT!!! There is so much research on "black mold" that scares me just thinking about it. Most likely this matress has been exposed to moisture and black mold is a possibility that I would not even consider.

I know that I tell my patients "people can get over hurt feelings, you will never get over the death of your baby" never worry about hurting people's feelings when it comes to protecting your child!!

Good luck
