I posted a while back about a discipline approach called 123 Magic. The book is cheap. It works to resolve the temper tantrum while it was going on, but it wont stop them from starting. Both of mine are terrible tantrumers - if that's a word. The post is probably back a couple of months. If you want more info. I will retype it. It might have been in response to a question Phil posted about his 4 year old.

As for your wife's nausea. I was terribly sick in both of my pregnancies. Has she tried the SeaBand wrist for anti nausea. It wont take it away competely, but it might help a little. As for the new baby, I totally understand how you feel. I mean it when I say it will be ok. Some days wont be easy, but it will be OK.

: My 17-month-old Hannah is going through a spell where she's having 3-4 solid temper tantrums a day. She's been doing this for 3-4 days in a row. She was sick for about a week and a half with a cold and then double ear infection, and didn't have near this many tantrums before. So, what do you think? Is this a phase or is she spoiled rotten from being sick for so long? It's about to drive me and the pregnant and constantly nauseous Mrs. Steve crazy. Right now we're both terrified about the possibility of a new baby because we're not sure we want the one we HAVE.
