: my baby is 7 months & he is feeding on my breast milk.i had started giving him mashed & boiled rice @ pulses when he was 4 1/2 months old.he used to eat well then.later when he was 5 1/2 monthes old ,he started projectile vomiting through his mouth & nose & his stool was greenish.our pediatrician said he had certain stomach infection. after recovery he stopped eating solid food totally. he even refuses formula milk.now he is totally on breast milk.is he normal, please suggest if not
If his infection really completley gone, has he gone for a recheck? If it tis gone and he is no longer having vomiting but is taking breast milk, I would just continue to give him that until he is comfortable eating solids. Then later try solids again. If he continues to have vomiting and no infection, it could be reflux. Also, when there is no stomach infection, it is normal to have green stools due to the high iron content in what he is eating that turns the stools that color. I would also give him infant vitamins. I always believe infants and toddlers should be on vitamins which also helps strengthen their immune system. Both of my girls are 2 and 3 and have only had 1 cold and I tend to believe the vitamins strengthen their immune system.
Good luck. Give us an update.
