: My 11 month old can't walk yet but he can get out of walker, his high chair and climbs the gates. He won't stay in his bath seat anymore either. Now he only wants to stand in the bath tub. He's also constanly getting into things that are "unallowables" as we call them. I'm a nervous wreck. I am constantly telling him no or get down, etc. I have been giving him a hearty "no" when he does any of these things but he either doesn't listen or he'll have a tantrum. My Mom says that I should smack his hand when he's not listening? I know it worked with us but I don't feel comfortable about it. He probably already thinks that his Mom is mean. How should I be handling this?

He is young and no is not going to work, but thing to do is take all the stuff that you don't want him touching and but it on something high that he will not get or climb on something to get it. like the fidge, or in you;re bedroom somewhere.Or you will just being say no everytime he touches something, so you're best is to get it out of his reach
