: I was unable to post on the pregnancy board and haven't found my answer on the interent so I thought I'd ask you. Can an ectopic pregnancy show a false negative on a hpt?
I know im not elizabeth,
But my mother had a etopic pregnancy some yrs ago, She expected she was pregnant and took a test which was negative, She put it down to stress because she was late for her period. Then she suffered the pains (really bad pains) and was rushed into hospital, blood tests confirmed the pregnancy, but the scan showed no baby in the womb, but in the tube and at that time her tube had ruptured and she almost died, She underwent surgery to remove the baby and the ruptured tube.
They said her chances were slim conciving again due to the bad tube, but she ended up having 3 more kids in the space of 5 yrs on her good tube naturally.
If you do think your pregnant and the tests are saying negative see your doctor and ask for a blood test, it could save your life and save you a lot of pain.
