: : I know we revisit this same subject occasionally, but I need HELP! I am at wits end lately with my son! I hate to say it... but thank goodness he starts daycare next week!

: : First off he is extremely stubborn, and when he does not get his way, about ANYTHING, he SCREAMS!
: : He screams at the top of his lungs and kicks.

: : Recently he has started climbing. I ask him nicely to sit down, I try redirecting his attention, but he stays very focused. And, of course winds up hurting himself everytime. What to do? With this behavior and all the others? Neither Hubby or myself can shower without him throwing a screaming fit during the entire shower! We can not change a diaper without being kicked in the face at least once.

: : I know he is far too young for time outs, or is he? Any ideas out there? TIA!

: Shana,

: If he can't get out of his crib, a time-out in his crib would be good until he is done screaming. When he is done screaming, make a big deal and shower with affection because he stopped. If he gets out of his crib, I would put him in his room and let him come out when he is done screaming. I have been through this with both of my girls as I am sure everyone else has who has toddlers. Good luck.

How long do I allow him to scream for? I actually did try this a few times, but it didn't seem to help. He is a screamer and I believe he likes to scream... LOL!
