My sister in law (SIL) was going to check on her kids one night. As she walked through the hallway toward one of her daughter's rooms, she saw a shadow on the floor that looked as though the person casting it was raising their arms slowly and bringing them back down, you know, like flapping your arms, only slowly. Based on where the shadow was coming from, she figured her daughter had gotten out of her crib, walked across the room and was playing when she was supposed to be asleep.
Well, my SIL walks into the room quickly, planning on scolding her daughter, but when she gets there, she finds her daughter sitting in a corner of her crib, eyes as wide as saucers with a big grin on her face, staring at the wall where the shadow was coming from. She looked again and saw the shadow was gone.
What's interesting about this, is that we (my wife, son and I) stayed in this room when we came for a visit. One night my son wakes me up and says, "Daddy, there's a man in here." He wasn't frightened and I figured he was just dreaming, but maybe he wasn't afterall.
Anyway, my SIL had words with this "ghost" (she tends to believe in this stuff too) that night. She said, "This is MY house. I want you to leave. If you stay, you'll have to deal with me!" She hasn't had any other experiences since then. I don't blame the ghost. I would have left too if she threatened me with having to deal with her. She's sweet, but TOUGH!
