: Hi. This is kind of a long message but I would really like to hear some opinions on the matter. We are just starting to toilet train my 2.5 year old son. He is doing ok with it during the day and doesn't have too many accidents. Night is different though. We actually haven't even started with staying dry at night because he doesn't seem to be ready yet. So here is my question. I know a lot of people say be consistent in toilet training, however I don't want to force my son into doing something he's not ready for and make him uncomfortable. For that reason he's wearing Pull-ups during the day and is still in a diaper at night. I think that Pull-ups are for training, and I know he's going to wake up wet, so why use themat night? He did wear them for a night last week and his bed was wet in the morning. I don't think they hold enough to be worn all night if he is going to be using them. So, I was just wondering if anyone else has an opinion about switching between the two. Once he starts to stay dry at night, we will be sure to switch to Pull-ups then. For now I have him use the toilet every night before bed, then change him into a diaper and his pajamas. Again, he is probably going to keep being wet at night for a litlte while longer, so why have him wake up in a wet bed too? Thanks for any advice!

The pull ups are not holding at night? what kind are you using? I would stick with the pull ups on my son..he liked them and thought they were "big" boy pants. He would sleep with them on. But if you feel you should use the diaper at night then do that. Just try to stick to something cause he might get confused..my son was 3 when he finally stopped the wet nights...good luck to you
