: I wish there was something I could do, but man, she's miserable. The combo of all-day nausea and having to take care of a 1.5-year-old is really wearing on Mrs. Steve. She said tonight that she was feeling guilty about it, but kind of wishes this pregnancy would just go away.

Steve,

I'm sorry to hear that nothing is working for Mrs. Steve. She may be one of those women where nothing works that may need home health care with IV fluids. Phenergan is the best medication for nausea, but I would not take it while pregnant especially because she is still in her first trimester which is the most critical. The chance of birth defects is minimal to average, but I wouldn't take the chance. After she passes the 3 months, her nausea should start going away. For now, the only thing I could suggest is for her to try and eat foods that she can tolerate, maybe fruits, salads, whatever she can tolerate, plenty of rest and sleep. If she is not getting enough rest and sleep and is under stress, that will worsen her nausea.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope she feels better.
