You are so wrong. I am sorry, I respect your opinions on other things, but this Down Syndrome thing you are on is so inaccurate it is horrible. Down Syndrome has a higher incidence of occurring after you are 35 - for reasons I will not go into, but they have nothing to do with drugs or eating well - and DS can certainly not be caused by not eating well. If your husband is a top geneticist, I would take him on in a second, if he is telling people this, these are the dr.'s we want to educate. NOTHING "causes" an extra chromosome after conception, what happens AT CONCEPTION just replicates throughout the pregnancy. Please do not tell people these things - think about what you are saying, this is why there are tests like the CVS that can be done early in pregnancy to tell if a baby has DS rather than waiting for an amnio later in line. And if eating or not eating well causes DS then AFTER a person has an amnio and is told their baby CHROMOSOMALLY is healthy, then that means during the next 16 weeks or so, it could change. That is absolutely inaccurate and an abomination of medical facts. Lets stop this now, if education is your main goal, then please get the facts.
Again, anyone wanting information can go to www.ndss.org or www.ndsc.org.....
: Something else I forgot to mention is Down Syndrome could also be caused by a women having a baby past 35 and not eating well during pregnancy.
