Hi. I think you may have 2 issues going on. Unfortunately, (or actually fortunately), your son is around the prime age for separation anxiety which can start as early as 6-8 mos or as late as 12-14 mos. and usually peaks around 15 months.

It would be my guess, that if he is no longer sick, or his ears dont have fluid or pressure, etc. he has started that. Alot of times it starts that way.

The way you describe how he cries when you leave the room the majority of the time and wont sleep thru the night or go into his crib, especially when he knows you're around....I would consider it.

Believe me when I tell you, they can become "little monsters" when they start this phase of development. Its a good phase but it can drive you nutty!! Both of my kids started around 9 months old...and my son who is 13 months is primed and ready to go constantly....

Good luck, but I'd get his ears rechecked anyway especially if he's had a subsequent cold.

: Hi, I am new here at the message board. I have a 10 monthold son, who up until 2 weeks ago hass been an excellent baby. He has been sleeping in his crib through the night since 3 months. About 2 weeks ago he got an ear infection, then the stomach flu, now a cold. Since the ear infectioon he has not slept thru the night. Being sick I let himmmm sleep with us.(I know... big mistake)I also stayed home with him from daycare/work. He has become very attached to me. He will NOT sleep in his crib at night or during his 2 day nap times. He also cries when I leave the room, or put him down. It isnt ALL the time, but the majority of time. I am not sure what to do. I have tried to let him cry, but that resulted inhim crying so hard he trew up. I cant let him do that- or should i . I would appreciate any helpp. As you can tell this is my first. He is such a great boy, and Iwould hate to have things get worse.
